Your Peruvian adventure begins as you meet your WOW group at Lima International Airport, where the excitement of the journey finally comes to life. From the airport, we’ll head together to Miraflores, one of Lima’s most vibrant and beautiful neighbourhoods. Once we reach the hotel, check in and settle into your room. The rest of the day is yours to relax after the journey, catch up on some rest, or step out to soak in your first impressions of Peru. Take the evening at your own pace, get to know your fellow WOW travellers, and get ready for the incredible journey ahead. **Accommodation**: Hilton Garden Inn Lima Miraflores or Similar (4*) ### Day 2: Lima City Experience → Cusco → Sacred Valley After breakfast, we begin our Peruvian adventure with a glimpse into the history and culture of Lima.Our first stop is the Larco Museum, one of Peru’s most fascinating museums, known for its remarkable collection of pre-Columbian art and artefacts. We then continue towards Barranco, Lima’s bohemian neighbourhood, famous for its colourful streets, artistic atmosphere and charming architecture. Later, we proceed to the airport for our flight to Cusco. (Flight from Lima to Cusco is not included) Upon arrival in Cusco, we leave the city behind and drive towards the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. As we travel through the Andes, the landscape gradually transforms into dramatic mountains, traditional villages and fertile valleys. On arrival, check in to our hotel and enjoy some time to unwind. In the evening, come together for dinner, share stories and get ready for the adventures that await us. Yes its a long day, but totally worth it. **Accommodation**: Casa Andina Premium Valle Sagrado Hotel or similar (5*) ### Day 3: Raqchi Viewpoint → Maras Salt Mines → Moray → Ollantaytambo Today, we explore the fascinating history, traditions and landscapes of the Sacred Valley. We begin at the Raqchi viewpoint, where we will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the valley before descending to explore the region. From the viewpoint, we will have a majestic view of the ancient Maras Salt Mines, where the famous Maras salt is collected. We will see almost 3,000 salt pools, which during Inca times played an important role in the imperial economy. We then continue to Moray, an extraordinary archaeological site that resembles a natural amphitheatre. Its enormous concentric terraces and the different microclimates they created are believed to have played an important role in Inca agricultural experimentation. Our journey continues to Ollantaytambo, an ancient military, religious and agricultural centre of the Incas. We will visit its main temple, terraces and fountains while enjoying views of the town, known for maintaining its original Inca urban design. After breakfast, we transfer to Ollantaytambo Railway Station and board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. From there, we take a short bus ride up to the legendary Machu Picchu Citadel. Explore the ancient ruins, learn about its fascinating Inca history and enjoy the spectacular mountain views. After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes for some free time for lunch before boarding the return train. We begin with Koricancha, one of the most important temples of the Inca Empire, before wandering through the charming streets of San Blas, a neighbourhood known for its artistic spirit, traditional architecture and local craft shops. We then visit the impressive Cusco Cathedral, followed by the surrounding archaeological sites. Our exploration continues to Sacsayhuaman, an extraordinary Inca fortress located above Cusco. The site is famous for its enormous precisely fitted stone blocks and panoramic views over the city. Along the way, enjoy a local lunch and plenty of opportunities to capture photographs, explore the streets and experience the fascinating blend of Inca and Spanish heritage that defines Cusco. Optional Experience – Rainbow Mountain For those looking for one more incredible adventure, an optional excursion to Vinicunca – Rainbow Mountain can be arranged at an additional cost. The journey takes us deep into the high Andes, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Along the way, we may encounter traditional Andean communities as well as llamas and alpacas. The highlight is reaching Vinicunca at approximately 5,020 metres, where mineral-rich slopes create the spectacular natural colours for which Rainbow Mountain is famous. The hike is challenging due to the high altitude and terrain, but the views make it a rewarding experience for those who are up for the adventure.
