# Sikkim Rhododendron Trek

**Route**: `/solo-women-group-travel/sikkim-rhododendron-trek`

## Overview

Our trek covers the higher reaches of the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary in West Sikkim, which houses 13 different varieties of rhododendron species. During the trek one passes through dense thickets of rhododendrons below the Tal mountain ridge laden with conifer forest of silver fir and hemlock. The trek winds its way through the source of two rivers, which originate from moist grassy meadows. All along the trek we gorge ourselves on the magnanimous views of the Khangchendzonga range.

## Customer Reviews

> The sikkim rhododendron trek that i took with wow club was wonderful. It was like a journey inwards, testing my energies, willpower and love towards the mother nature.
Sikkim Rhododendron Sanctuary gate was the starting point. Little i knew about what it is going to reveal and how i can cope up with the camping and the trek. Ms Shivangi our wow buddy, the youngest of all, was a one superb guide. She gave us the enough space of our own ability and encouraged us when the trek became steep, slippery and dangerous too sometimes.
she kept herself last in the queue so that she is sure that all are ahead and safe; There is a lot of appreciation towards the service and care of our local guide Mr. NB, we called him in short. He looked into every requirement of each and every member of the group.
when we wanted hot green tea while trekking, it was magically there and the food he provided to the group was wholesome and healthy.
Thanks to wow club for giving me an experience to remember in a life time.

> VOF was supposed to be my first trip with WOW way back in 2013. But.. it turned out be be my 8th instead! The transport and accomdation are always comfortable with WOW; however I was pleasently surprised by the very comfortable camping site. This particularly helped us have a good night's sleep after strenuous trekking in the day time. The guide chosen by WOW was excellent - not only knowledgeable, but great at managing changing demands of WOW Wanderers. I am already looking forward to my 9th one with WOW in September!
