Entebbe offers a relaxed stop-over if you're flying into or out of Uganda, as the air is clean, the streets are safe to walk, and the old colonial gardens and parks with the lake in the background make for a serene atmosphere. Even traveling between Entebbe and the mainland is exciting because the first city you enter inland is the bustling Ugandan capital, Kampala. Where local and international cultures mix and mingle to create a vibrant environment for evolving modern new cultures. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Entebbe. **Accommodation**: Best Western Premier Garden or similar (4*) ### Day 2: Entebbe to Kisoro After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport and board the flight to Kisoro. On arrival, transfer to the lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. In this oasis of privacy, serenity and rejuvenation, there are no crowds, just Mountain Gorillas as well as the soothing sound of birds, rustling trees, soft breezes and breathtaking views. Bwindi is a UNESCO World heritage site, the park is called impenetrable because of the thick tree canopies found in the park that prevent sunlight from penetrating to the ground. There are 17 habituated gorilla groups in Bwindi which is the highest anywhere. On arrival in the lodge, proceed for lunch and relax. Rest of the day is at leisure. You can also opt for optional activity like Batwa Trail - Mgahinga National Park. The dense forest at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes was once home to the Batwa people: hunter-gatherers and fierce warriors who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine passed down through many generations. Step back in time to see how the Batwa lived and hunted for millennia in Mgahinga. Share a traditional meal, listen to ancient legends and traditional songs, and join in on a mock hunting party. You can eventest your skill with a Batwa bow and arrow. The funds from this tour are part of a give back program that supports the indigenous people’s cultural heritage by helping them purchase new land, provide education and books (Tour Cost: INR 11,000 approx). **Accommodation**: Four Gorillas Lodge or similar (4*) ### Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Depart from the lodge around 06:30 AM to drive to UWA Headquarters at Rushaga. The pre-trek briefing takes place at the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters at 08:00 AM. At the briefing it will be determined by the UWA Head Guides which family you will be trekking. Depending on which family you are allocated to, you will be transferred to the start point of the trek. Porters will be available to hire at the start of the trek. Some gorilla families live near the park offices while others are found further away. The Park Guides from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, two armed rangers and porters move with each group. The Guides are very experienced, knowledgeable and well-trained. Once you spot the family, you will be allowed only one hour with them – so that they don’t start getting uncomfortable. Take your time to observe their behavior and different personalities while taking some photos for your memories. Return to the resort and have lunch. Rest of the day is at leisure. Kasese is a scenic district in western Uganda, nestled between the Rwenzori Mountains and the Rift Valley. It is a gateway to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse wildlife. Nearby, Kibale National Park offers one of Africa's best chimpanzee tracking experiences. On arrival, check-in to the resort and rest. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay and dinner at the resort. **Accommodation**: Turaco Treetops Lodge or similar (4*) ### Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking In the morning, proceed for the Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park. Chimpanzee trekking is one of the best wildlife experiences in Africa. A typical trek will take around 3 hours and will start early morning including one hour with the chimps. The trek starts with a briefing from the park rangers. They'll talk you through the route you'll be taking, the safety precautions, and explain more about the chimps and their behaviour in the wild. You will then head off into the forest in search for a habituated group of chimps, these are chimps that are accustomed to human presence. These groups tend not to retreat too deeply into the forest, meaning you don't have to hike as far before coming across your first troop swinging in the trees above. Return back to the resort for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure. You can also opt for optional activity like Nocturnal Walk at an extra cost (INR 11,000). Set out on foot into the park as night falls and the nocturnal world of the forest comes to life. Your guide will point out the many creatures who move about the forest at night, as your spotlight uncovers photos, owls, bushbabies, genets, and, on rare occasions, small jungle cats (60-90 minutes). Dinner & overnight stay at the lodge. **Accommodation**: Turaco Treetops Lodge or similar (4*) ### Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park Post breakfast, check-out and drive to Mweya Safari Lodge (2-3 hour). Located on a peninsula within the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mweya Safari Lodge is surrounded by the magical Rwenzori Mountains aptly described as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’. Enjoy a thrilling game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park as you journey from Kasese, offering the chance to spot elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes against a backdrop of sweeping savannah and the Rwenzori Mountains. Bird lovers can also enjoy sightings of numerous species, including the colorful bee-eaters and majestic eagles. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely private boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
