Day 1
Guwahati to Cherrapunji
Arrive at Guwahati airport and drive to Cherrapunjee (168 kms/6 hrs approx). On the way take a brief halt at Umiam lake, its picturesque, panoramic setting, surrounded by the lush and lofty East Khasi Hills, this lake is often compared with the beautiful and mesmerizing lakes of Scotland. Moreover, there are small islands that rise from the water that look exceedingly beautiful. Thereafter, continue to Cherrapunji. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 2
Trek Double Decker root bridge
Living Root Bridges are unique live bridges found only in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. The secondary roots of a species of Indian Rubber tree Ficus Elastica - are trained over 20-25 years to form these living bridges to cross fast flowing rivers and streams. The trek passes through some verdant slopes, criss crossed by streams. At some places the stream has made some natural ponds, containing emerald blue water where you can take a dip. The trek is moderately difficult since one needs to descend 2500 feet and 3000 steps approximately (one way) into the valley and then climb up the same again. Overnight stay at the Jiva Resort or Similar.

Day 3
Cherrapunji to Shillong
In the morning visit the Mawsmai caves to see some limestone formation (55 km/2 hrs approx). From here we drive to Nohkalikai falls, ranked high in the list of 100 most beautiful falls in the world. Thereafter continue driving to Shillong. On nearing Shillong take a brief halt at Elephant falls a 2-tiered rugged waterfall that lies right amidst thick greenery, finally reaching a small lake. The two successive falls, stream down from mountains on rocky steps, creating a foam effect. Continue to Shillong Peak from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire city. We then check into our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4
Dawki – Mawlynnong excursion
In the morning drive to Dawki. It is a scenic location with the crystal clear Umngot river running pass through. Enjoy the scenery and take a ride in local boats. Thereafter continue driving to the village of Mawlynnong (34 Kms/ 1 hr approx) which is known as cleanest village in India. This picturesque village has the distinction of being the cleanest village in Asia. You can walk around the flower laden paths of the village and also visit a nearby Root- Bridge. By evening drive back to Shillong (78 Kms/ 2.5 hrs approx). Overnight stay at Hotel Tripura Castle or Similar.

Day 5
Into Wilderness of Kaziranga
By late morning drive to Kaziranga (281 Kms/6 hrs approx). Located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India, Assam, Kaziranga National Park covers an area of approximately 430-sq-kms with its swamps and tall thickets of elephant grass making it the ideal habitat for the Indian One-Horned Rhino. Kaziranga National Park is a World heritage site and one of the prides of India. Check in and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 6
With the wild and beautiful
Wake up early in the morning for an elephant safari in the grasslands of Kaziranga which is sure to leave you mesmerized. After breakfast freshen up and relax at the resort. In the afternoon we go for a jeep safari in the Central range of the park, which has a high density of Rhinos, Deer and Water Buffalos. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Day 7
Tradition of Balipara
After breakfast drive to Balipara (98 Kms/ 2.5 hrs approx). In the heart of the Assamese tea country. After lunch we will go to visit Solapara village mainly inhabited by the tea tribe, learning about their lifestyle. This would be followed by a dance performance by the tea tribe, which is similar to Assamese folk dance. In the evening walk around the tea estate to learn all about how tea is grown and picked, followed by tea tasting. Overnight stay at Wild Mahseer. The property is a gem set in the midst of Addabarie Tea Estate, established by the British Assam Tea Company in 1864. Positioned in the very lap of nature and immersed in the mystique of tea, Wild Mahseer has ample history embedded in its British Assam lifestyle.

Day 8
Balipara to Guwahati
After breakfast, drive directly to Guwahati airport (225 Kms/ 5 hrs approx) to board the flight back home after a memorable and fun filled trip.
