Day 1
Yerevan – City tour
Arrival at the Zvartnots International Airport, drive to Yerevan. We will start the city tour with the Republic Square, the main square of the city which hosts around a set of government buildings, the Post Office, the History Museum and the National Gallery, the hotel, and the clock tower. The square is known for its singing fountains in the evening. Walking along the Northern Avenue , a pedestrian boulevard over a length of 450 meters from the Republic Square to Liberty Square.Then we continue to walk along Abovian Street to the Opera of Yerevan. Continue to Charles Aznavour Square and the Moscow Cinema in the courtyard of which stands a small fountain with zodiac signs. Proceed to Cascade modern art complex, the gigantic stone staircase in the city center connecting the upper and lower parts of the city. Drive to Tsitsernakaberd Monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Arrival in Yerevan. Check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 2
Echmiadzin – Zvartnots
After Hearty breakfast , Visit Matenadaran home, of over 17,000 ancient manuscripts. Drive to Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the worldwide Armenian Church, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, depart to the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive back to Yerevan. Then, visit the covered food market of the city which houses in a large hall of numerous stalls of Armenian specialties such as dried fruits, vegetables, local cheeses, spices etc. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 3
Sevan lake- Dilijan- Vanadzor
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning drive to Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Eurasia, at 1900 meters above sea level. Crossing landscapes of dancing forests and large green pastures we will arrive in the city of Dilijan which is in the heart of the Dilijan National Park. You will discover the local architecture,the houses with wooden balconies are still numerous there and give a particular charm to the small streets. Drive to Haghartsin Monastery (10-13th century) located at the end of the road, nestled on a grassy valley in the middle of the woods and in the hollow of the mountains. Later, we will head to the village of Fioletovo where you will meet the Molokans, a Russian minority present in Armenia since the 18th century. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 4
Gyumri
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, remarkable for its architecture, its warm atmosphere, and its preserved craft traditions. The city was known by the Armenian name of Kumayri during the period of the Kingdom of Urartu. We will start the city tour from Vardanants Square, the main square with the town hall, the Church of St. Astvatsatsin (Virgin Mary), also known as the Church of the Seven Wounds. Continue the excursion to district of Kumayri. Visit the gallery of the Mariam and Eranuhi Aslamazyan sisters. This is the only gallery named after female artists , and devoted to female artists, in all of Armenia. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight stay at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 5
Ararat valley-Khor Virap-Areni
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure to the south, a sacred place for Armenians, the church of Khor Virap, the closest point to Mount Ararat. Continuation to the region of Vayots Dzor, the jewel of the wine heritage and the cradle of Armenian viticulture. We will follow the Wine Route which will take us to the Areni bird cave where archaeological research has discovered grape seeds, the remains of pressed grapes, “Karas”- wine jars dating back 6100 years. We take the road along a narrow and spectacular canyon towards the monastic complex of Noravank (13th-14th century) in Armenian new monastery, the medieval cultural and religious center, located on the slope of the deep gorge of the tributary of the Arpa river. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Day 6
Garni – Geghard
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the only pagan temple preserved from the pre-Christian era, Garni, built in gray basalt and with Greek temple columns, dedicated to Mihr, the god of the sun. Visit the ruins of the royal palace and the baths located near the temple. Walk in the gorge of Azat to discover the mineral symphony of the basalt organs. Enjoy the family hosted lunch with opportunity to discover Armenian bread, lavash (inscribed on the representative list of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage) making in the tonir, an oven dug into the ground. Continue to the Geghard Monastery, the apogee of Armenian medieval architecture, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All around you can see the cave cells which house “khatchkars” (cross stones) carved into the rock walls which add to the charm of this monastery. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight stay at the hotel in Yerevan

Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport to board flight back home.

OR SIMILAR means that the hotel booked might be different from the hotel mentioned in the itinerary. 90% of the time we book the hotel that’s mentioned, but under few situations it might differ due to on-the-ground factors. So we pick an alternate hotel, but always in the same class and area of the city. -
