Day 1
Welcome to Egypt
Welcome to Cairo International Airport. Transfer and Check in to the hotel (group transfers only) and recover from the long journey. Unwind and relax. This evening we set off to attend the Sound and Light show. It is a unique event combining sound and light with a backdrop of the Pyramids & the Sphinx. The show is sure to take you back in time. Proceed to a local restaurant for dinner. After an exciting evening, we return to our hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 2
Great Pyramids and the Sphinx
After breakfast, we start our much awaited Egypt trip to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. After an exciting encounter with history and more we settle down for lunch at a local restaurant. A visit to mysterious Cairo is never complete without exploring the Egyptian museum. The museum has one of the world’s best collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts, including 12 rooms filled with treasures from the tomb of the boy king Tutankhamen. Post lunch we complete the tour of the museum and visit the world famous Khan el Khalili old Bazaar. Later leave for an incredible Nile Cruise along with folklore entertainment. After an enthralling cultural show and lovely dinner we return to our hotel for sleep and overnight in Cairo.

Day 3
Cruising the Nile
Post breakfast, we leave the hotel to take the early morning flight from Cairo to Aswan. After our arrival at Aswan, we will proceed to visit the Philae Temple and the High Dam before boarding the cruise. We will then drive to the Nile River Cruise port and check into the ship for a lovely stay. Lunch will be served on board. Post lunch, hop onto the Felucca and visit the Nubian Village - to experience the simple life of the local people of Nubia. A felucca is a traditional wooden sailing boat. It’s rig consists of one or two lateen sails. Return to cruise and rest of the day is at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 4
Excursion to Abu Simbel
An early morning starting at 04:00 AM takes you touring the Abu Simbel temple, do not forget to take your packed breakfast before de-boarding the cruise. The Abu Simbel Temples are one of the most special places in Egypt. Drive back to the cruise for lunch and enjoy the afternoon with the breathtaking views while we sail to Kom Ombo. Visit to Kom Ombo Temple- The temple is unique because it is in fact a double temple, dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon-headed god. The layout combines two temples in one with each side having its own gateways and chapels. The ancient Egyptian place of worship features a distinctive engraving that is thought to be among the first representations of medical and surgical instruments. We will then sail to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board in Edfu.

Day 5
Edfu & Luxor
Today early morning at 06:00 AM we will visit the Edfu temple located on the west bank of Nile River. The city was known in Greco-Roman times as Apollonopolis Magna, after the chief god Horus-Apollo. Later we begin our cruise to Luxor via Esna, enjoying the delicious lunch on board. Next we cast anchor at Luxor to visit the renowned Karnak Temple. Karnak temple is supposedly the largest religious building to ever be constructed. Built about 2,000 years ago this temple is dedicated to the Theban trio of Amun, Mut and Khonsu. Post this short trip we return to the cruise for an exciting dinner to be served on board and for the overnight stay.

Day 6
Luxor Hot Air Balloon
This is one of the adventurous day of the trip. Early morning at 04:00 AM we get ready for the thrilling Hot air balloon trip. Luxor hot air balloon ride is one of the most beautiful rides in the world. From an air balloon you have a perfect view on how the Egyptians strategically divided the fields. After an exciting day we return back to cruise to get freshened up and to have breakfast. Post breakfast we checkout from the cruise and head out to visit the west bank – Valley of the Kings and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Stop for Lunch (at own expense). We will then proceed to Hurghada (5 hrs drive). Check into the hotel and enjoy the XMas dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Hurghada.

Day 7
Hurghada-The Beach Resort Town
Enjoy the leisure breakfast at the resort. Today the day is free for leisure and relaxation. Engage yourself in the water sports activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, water ski, speedboat, wind surf etc (all at own expense). You can also explore the gym, courts and Indoor games at the resort or choose to relax by the pool or beach.

Day 8
Departure
Today carry packed breakfast and we will checkout around 04:00 AM to transfer to the Hurghada airport (group transfers only) for the homebound flight via Cairo.

"Just returned from a WOW trip to Egypt - Overall an awesome trip with lot of history, some adventure, and fun activities. It brought back the memories of history lessons from childhood. I loved the pick hotels - Mena House at Giza, The Savoy hotel at Sharm el Shiekh. Sharm el sheikh was a welcome addition to the itinerary - it is the modern and relaxed side of Egypt. Thank you for including this! We enjoyed the option of scuba diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea at Sharm. Pretty exciting exploring under water! Hiking the colored canyon was a spectacular adventure, and the Shisha experience during our WOW farewell dinner was great fun too. Would I recommend Women On Wanderlust - Certainly!

"I love the collective energy of the WOW group, the Egyptian history and archaeology, and the knowledge that I gathered on the trip. Egypt lives up to its hype. The pyramids at Giza, the Cairo museum and the brilliant story telling by the Egyptologists are a few of the experiences that made my trip so memorable. The Cairo museum is hands down the best museum I have been to. Seeing Tutankhamun's solid gold coffin was literally a hair raising experience. OR SIMILAR means that the hotel booked might be different from the hotel mentioned in the itinerary. 90% of the time we book the hotel that’s mentioned, but under few situations it might differ due to on-the-ground factors. So we pick an alternate hotel, but always in the same class and area of the city. -
Do you offer a travel protection / insurance plan for purchase? Is it included in the cost?
Yes, we do offer a travel insurance which is included in the package cost. For travelers above 59 years and above, an additional amount will be charged. -
