The Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland, spanning around 210,000 square kilometers across Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Known for its stunning biodiversity, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including jaguars, caimans, capybaras, giant otters, and hundreds of bird species. The Pantanal landscape transforms dramatically with seasonal flooding, creating a dynamic ecosystem ideal for ecotourism, safaris, and birdwatching. You may also join the extension to South America (Brazil, Argentina & Peru)
The Plan
Day 1
WELCOME TO PANTANAL
Arrive at Cuiaba airport. Drive to Pantanal. The first half of the journey is on a paved road along farms and cattle ranches. After reaching Poconé – we take the Transpantaneira Park Road. This road allows us to drive above the water level, watching the flora and fauna of the Pantanal ecosystem. It’ll be a photo safari along 32 km of dirt road with several stops along the way for photos and information. Upon reaching, proceed for a guided introductory walk through the surroundings of the lodge. Then, continue to the Great Egret Lookout, a 12m/39ft high observation tower. Post dinner, proceed for a night walk under the Southern Hemisphere sky. Overnight stay in the lodge.
