Chandigarh - Kufri
On arrival, after pickup from Chandigarh airport we will drive towards Kufri (4h 15m/140 kms). The spectacular cool hills creates an aura which is very different from other places. After we reach Kufri, check in to our hotel and get ourselves freshened up, from a long exhausted day of travelling. Evening is at leisure. Overnight stay is in Kufri.
-
Day 2
Kufri to Sangla
After an early breakfast en route we will visit the Hatu peak in Narkanda (1h 30m/50 kms). Drive till Karccam and then proceed to Sangla alongside river Baspa (5h 15m/155 kms). In Tibetan, the term Sangla means “pass of light” which refers to the valley receiving sunlight during the day. The Baspa River flows through the valley and that is why it is also known as the Baspa Valley.
-
Day 3
Sangla – Chitkul - Kalpa
After breakfast we will proceed from Sangla and visit Chitkul which is the last habitable village near the Indo-China border. Later we will drive back to Sangla and take a walk to Kamru Fort (involves uphill walk) in Sangla and later carry on to the beautiful hamlet of Kalpa. Kamru fort is a perfect place for a glimpse in to the artistic legacy of past.
-
Day 4
Kalpa - Nako
After breakfast we will drive from Kalpa to Nako (2h 30m/100 kms). overlooking the sublime Kinner Kailash Range. The unspoilt, serene and picturesque village of Nako is located in Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh at a height of around 3600m. Today we will be driving though the treacherous routes as we cross Ribba, Spillow and Khab (the point of the confluence of Tsang Po (Sutlet) river and Spiti river). On reaching Nako, we will visit the famous Nako lake and Monastery. Overnight stay is at Kinner Camps.
-
Day 5
Nako - Tabo
After a leisure breakfast we will drive from Nako to Tabo ( 2h ). After the descent from Nako we cross Sumdo which is a mere 14 km distance from the China border and also visit Gue monastery, where a Monk’s Mummy has been preserved over years. We will also visit the historic Tabo Monastery , also known as Ajanta of the Himalayas. Later, enjoying the exhilarating drive from Tabo to pristine village of Kaza in Spiti valley we will reach our destination for the day. Overnight stay is at Tabo.
-
Day 6
Dhankar Lake – Lahlung Village
Today's day is unlike others. Enjoy and absorb yourself in the Tibetan culture as we explore Kaza. Visit the striking Fort Monastery - Dhankar Gompa. The monastery is said to be in the 100 most dangerous places in the world due to its often inaccessible roads. This place is located at the height of around 3,894 meters above sea level. We will indulge in a short walk for 2 kms to Dhankar Lake and later visit Lahlung village on the way back to Kaza.
-
Day 7
Key Monastery – Langza - Komic
We will spend this day exploring everything that Kaza has to offer and more. Today we will be visiting the millennium old monastery, Key Gompa. Key Monastery is a famous Tibetan Monastery in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh and is located at an altitude of 4, 166 meters above sea level. Later in the day we will see some of the world's highest villages - Komic, Kibber and Langza.
-
Day 8
Kaza – Chandratal Lake
Post breakfast our drive from Kaza will be towards the breathtaking Chandrataal lake via Kunzum La Pass (2h 30m/100 kms). The drive through this unmatched track is sure to leave you enchanted. Chandrataal lake alias the moon lake is a crescent-shaped basin, surrounded by the gigantic Himalayan Mountains on all the sides. The lake is located at an elevation of 14,100 ft. Earlier, the lake was the resting point for the traders and voyagers who used to come from Tibet or Ladakh. People of the neighboring villages believe that the lake is often visited by fairies at midnight. Please note there will be a small walk of about 1 Km to reach the Lake. Upon reaching, sit back and relax gazing at the beauty of nature. Optional- One can choose to do the Parikrama (a clockwise circumambulation) around the Lake of about 4 Kms.
-
Day 9
Chandrataal - Manali
Proceed from Chandrataal to Manali after breakfast via the awestruck snow covered Rohtang Pass (3h 30m/112 kms). Rohtang Pass is a very beautiful and popular spot in Manali with more than 25 lakh visitors every year. In winter, the mountains at the Rohtang Pass are completely covered in snow and it is impossible to get there. Hence, the pass remains closed during winters (from October) and generally opens again in May.

Tanya
Hello there! If you come on this trip, we're going to have a lot of fun together. Ask any queries you may have and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Get in touch-
What does twin share price mean?
Twin share price is the price mentioned against a package and it refers to the cost per head for a double sharing accommodation. If you'd like to upgrade to Single Occupancy, please select this at the time of checkout -
Regarding the hotels, what does OR SIMILAR refer to?
OR SIMILAR means that the hotel booked might be different from the hotel mentioned in the itinerary. 90% of the time we book the hotel that’s mentioned, but under few situations it might differ due to on-the-ground factors. So we pick an alternate hotel, but always in the same class and area of the city. -
Can WOW book the flights for us?
Definitely! We routinely book and manage flights for our Wanderers. We recommend that travelers get their flights booked through us as this comes in handy when there are issues to do with cancellations or re-routings. -
Why don't you include flights in the Package cost?
Since our wanderers are located a variety of locations in India and outside India - it is impossible to include flights in the trip cost. -
Is it safe to visit Spiti during rains
Well, nature has always been unpredictable but with experienced expedition guides and drivers we have successfully covered this destination smoothly five times in the same season.
