Our trek covers the higher reaches of the Barsey Sanctuary in West Sikkim. During the trek one passes through the Tal mountain ridge laden with conifer forest of silver fir and hemlock. The trek winds its way through the source of two rivers, which originate from moist grassy meadows. All along the trek we gorge ourselves on the magnanimous views of the Khangchendzonga range. The Plan
Day 1
Bagdogra to Okhrey
Arrive at the Bagdogra airport and drive to Okhrey which takes 6 hours approximately. Okhrey is one of the new destinations in Sikkim. You can spot this small cozy and less famed village of Okhrey on your way to Barsey, one of the most sought – after trekking trails of Sikkim. It is the most popular base for the Barsey trek.
