Day 1
Best of Beginnings
On arrival, pickup from Guwahati airport. We start our memorable road trip and proceed to Bhalukpong on the Assam-Arunachal border which takes 6 hours approximately, it serves as a gateway to popular destinations like Dirang & Tawang and an ideal place to unwind amidst natural beauty and serenity. Dinner and overnight stay at Bhalukpong.

Day 2
Bhalukpong to Dirang
After an early breakfast start the drive to Dirang which takes 6 hours approximately. The drive from Bhalukpong to Dirang is a thrilling experience passing through extremely scenic places as you skirt past the Kameng river. Check-in on arrival and later dinner and overnight stay at Dirang.

Day 3
Dirang Sightseeing
Post breakfast, proceed for sightseeing with the first stop being Dirang dzong, a historic fort built sometime in the 17th century. The dzong was built to protect the local communities from Tibetan invaders. From here drive to the serene Sangti valley, a picture perfect valley which seems like a place straight out of fairytale. It’s serenity accentuated by the lazy meandering of the Sangti river through the broad open valley, patched with golden paddy fields and slender pines. Typical stone houses built by the Monpas over here, lend a very special charm to this place. Take a short walk through the valley. By late afternoon drive back and in the evening visit the Dirang monastery from where you can get grand panoramas of the valley below. Dinner and overnight stay at Dirang

Day 4
Dirang to Tawang
After an early breakfast commence the most scenic drive of your trip early in the morning from Dirang to Tawang which takes 7 hours approximately. The road keeps climbing up all the way till Sela pass offering some grand panoramas of the region. Take a brief halt at the 13,700 ft Sela pass, admiring the beautiful lake and its surroundings. On the way we stop at Jung waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 5
Tawang Sightseeing
After breakfast proceed for Tawang sightseeing. The higher reaches of Tawang have many glacial lakes, some of which you can visit. Drive to PT Tso lake and Sangetsar lake also popularly referred to as Madhuri lake. Weather permitting you will also drive to Bumla pass. In the evening visit the grand Tawang monastery, one of the holiest monastery of the Gelukpa sect of Buddhism. This monastery built in the 17th century by Merak Lama is one of the largest in the world. Dinner and overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 6
Tawang to Bomdila
In the morning post breakfast visit the War memorial, built to commemorate those who lost their lives in the 1962 war with China. From here we drive to Bomdila which will take 7 hours approximately, crossing over the Sela pass once more. Dinner and Overnight stay at Bomdila.

Day 7
Bomdila to Guwahati
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Guwahati which takes 8.5 hrs approximately, taking a different route which passes through Shergaon and Kalaktang. The route is very scenic and passes through thick temperate forests. In the evening shop for handcrafts around Guwahati. Dinner and overnight stay at Guwahati.

Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Guwahati Airport to board the flight back home

What does twin share price mean?
Twin share price is the price mentioned against a package and it refers to the cost per head for a double sharing accommodation. If you'd like to upgrade to Single Occupancy, please select this at the time of checkout -
Regarding the hotels, what does OR SIMILAR refer to?
OR SIMILAR means that the hotel booked might be different from the hotel mentioned in the itinerary. 90% of the time we book the hotel that’s mentioned, but under few situations it might differ due to on-the-ground factors. So we pick an alternate hotel, but always in the same class and area of the city. -
Do you offer a travel protection / insurance plan for purchase? Is it included in the cost?
Yes, we do offer a travel insurance which is included in the package cost. For travelers above 59 years and above, an additional amount will be charged. -
Can WOW book the flights for us?
Definitely! We routinely book and manage flights for our Wanderers. We recommend that travelers get their flights booked through us as this comes in handy when there are issues to do with cancellations or re-routings. -
Why do we have long road journeys in this trip?
Road journeys are filled with experiences. Sometimes, it is the most suitable mode of travel in many countries like this one - as the cities are not connected well by any other mode.
